• Seattle City Light's Green Up program: We help fund renewable energy resources--such as wind and solar--by paying an optional surcharge on our electricity bill.
• Built Green Member: By supplying green construction materials, we "promote environmentally friendly home building methods."
• Carbon Offsets: Through Renewable Choice Energy, we offset 100% of the carbon emissions associated with our business operations.
• Recycling Programs: We recycle cardboard, paper, glass, metal, and wood, and we compost food waste. Additionally, we are the first northwest tile company to provide a ceramic tile and stone recycling program for our customers.
• Purchasing Practices: During product selection, we evaluate the environmental sustainability of all products against eight criteria: production, origin, durability, recyclability, freight emissions, VOC content, recycled content, and lack of toxins. • Staff Education: We educate our staff on how to carry out sustainable practices in both the workplace and at home.
• Renewable Fuels: Our warehouse truck runs on B99 Biodiesel, made from soy beans grown in Washington.
